Reporting to the local unit director of operations and west regional fleet manager, the Lead Technician Vehicle will be responsible for the upkeep of a fleet of company vehicles and vehicle equipment, perform maintenance on vehicles and vehicle equipment in a timely and cost effective manner and ensure that all facility DOT vehicle are in compliance where applicable

Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:

  • $33.85 Per Hour

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with all required vendors

  • Sources all needed parts and equipment.

  • Maintains local preventive maintenance schedule and ensures compliance.

  • Maintains shop and parts inventory at a required level.

  • Locates, corrects and adjusts defects on fleet vehicles and vehicle equipment.

  • Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles and vehicle equipment.

  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.

  • Installs and repairs accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors and windshield wipers.

  • Maintains detailed records of time and materials used for completion of diagnosis.

  • Ensures all work is in compliance EPA requirements.

  • Ensures all company policies and procedures and OSHA standards are maintained to the highest level.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience:

  • 7+ years preventive maintenance experience.

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.

  • Must be able to read electrical schematics and/or vehicle diagrams

  • Welding and fabrication skills preferred

Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)

  • Valid Drivers License

Language / Communication Skills:

  • Effective communication skills
