Rate of Pay: $22.51 - $24.35

We are now hiring full time team members for our Hot & Cold Kitchen as 1st Cooks, 2nd Cooks or General Cooks dependent upon skill level and experience at our flight kitchen located at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond, British Columbia.
A Cook will be required to:
- Responsible for timely, proper, and efficient preparation of all food items according to the correct menu specifications, recipes, and passenger load requirements.
- Ensure the proper use of raw materials in a continuous effort to keep wastage to a minimum.
- Comply with and practice the company’s established Food Safety policy and procedures.
- Assuring that the quality standards of the food is maintained at all times
- Have basic knowledge, experience, and skills to work with various modern kitchen equipment – Rational Oven, Fryer, Steam Kettles, Char Broiler, Flat top Stove, Gas range etc.
- Work safely at all times, respecting specified rules and regulations while adhering to specific customer guidelines
Job Specific Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year cooking experience in a hotel kitchen/restaurant or manufacturing high volume catering environment
- Minimum 2 years or more of Asian/Chinese cuisine cooking experience
- Manage your time and prioritize tasks in a fast paced, time sensitive kitchen environment
- Obtain and maintain, a Transport Canada Security Clearance
Our Employees Must Be Able to:
- work in a detailed and methodical manner
- work an assigned schedule which may include days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays
- work overtime when required
- arrive to work on-time
- pass a criminal background check
- follow directions and communicate with supervisors and co-workers
- work as a member of a team within their department and work closely with various other departments
- must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Culinary degree or cooking certification preferred
- Red Seal preferred but not required
