Position Summary:
We’re looking for someone with a passion for Operations Leadership for a position in our Vancouver Flight Kitchen. If you have strong leadership skills and assembly / production experience this is an opportunity to take your career to the next level. You will be leading people and process in our food and tray assembly department. As we’re a 24hr/day, 7 days per week operation, you must be able to work various shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan daily labour according to production requirements and productivity targets
• Assign work and follow up throughout your shift to ensure your teams achieving the plan
• Ensure everything your teams produce meet your internal and external customers’ requirements (Quality) and are delivered on time
• Responsible for safety, quality and compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures
• Proactively seek opportunities to improve upon safety, quality and productivity
• Play an active role in minimizing material usage
• Work independently and with your peers to resolve problems in the supply chain
• Responsible for training, performance evaluation, coaching, counseling and preparing corrective action for employees and liaises appropriately with HR and other support functions.
• Various administrative tasks including creation / review of material requisitions, production sheets, food safety documentation, shift reports etc.
Education:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
Work Experience:
• 2+ years supervisory experience working in a high volume, fast paced manufacturing or logistics operation preferred
• Experience leading in a unionized environment is a plus, but not required.
Skills:
• Must have strong and effective leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage a staff of 40+ hourly employees.
• Strong communicator both verbally and in writing
• Ability to prioritize
• Must have the ability to give negative and positive feedback to employees daily
• Excellent time management skills required.
• Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
